Branson Shows Curtain Falls on 2009 and on Some Forever.

Roy Rogers and Trigger

It has been reported that the December Christian Christmas Branson Show attendance has been quite good. Folks are taking more short vacations closer to home than usual. They are looking for more economical accommodations and Attractions and Branson and Branson Shows are just what the Doctor ordered. If you have checked or have been in Las Vegas or New York City or even Atlantic City in the last year or so you will find the prices here in Branson Missouri about half or even less in some cases for Branson Shows, Branson Lodging, Branson Attractions and Branson Resteraunts.

The end of the 2009 Branson Show season will bring several changes that we know about and I am sure many more that we haven't heard about yet as the new 2010 Branson Show Season is just now going into the planning stages.

On the Baldknobbers show you may remember 2 of the senior family members passed away some time ago and at the end of this season Gene Dove and Roger Blevins will retire. Gene said he just entered the show for a short stay and that lasted 32 years. These fine showmen were singers and Roger played the steel Guitar and Dobro.

The Badknobbers show was the first show on the strip and started in 1959 making this year it's 50th Anniversary and it was celebrated with a great party and much back slapping and jokes as you can imagine. For the Golden Anniversary those that were at the first shows in 1959 could get in for half price and some actually did show up for those tickets. Many special guests were also in attendance.

The Four Original Mabe Brothers and they were the original Baldknobbers.

On another sad note the Roy Rogers and Dale Evans Museum closed it's doors at the end of this season and Rusty and Dustin Roy's son and grand son hope to continue their Roy Rogers and Dale Evans remembered show from a new venue next season. We understand the Non Profit Foundation that owned the museum artifacts will be auctioning off the thousands of artifacts that were collected by the #1 American Singing Cowboy and his family. Here is a link to a letter from Roy Rogers Jr telling you all about it.

Here is a link to their 2010 schedule at the Mickey Gilley Theater.

The Branson show Country Tonight also closed at the end of the 2009 season and rummer has it the show will show up again next season at the Oak Ridge Boys Theater with Marty Haggard (Merle's Son).

We here at Branson Ozark Mountain Country hope you all and yours had a great 2009 season and we are looking forward to visiting with you in 2010.
