November in Branson is always an exciting time. The reason for the excitement is the beginning of the Christmas Season Shows. Most of the shows change their stage backdrops and added features for the Holiday Season. A lot of the shows not only retain their name brand show numbers but insert the Christmas Season Character into the show.
Branson becomes the true Christmas City of the nation during November and December. The travel numbers and the show ticket numbers are showing a increase over the prior year. It isn't the increase everyone was hoping for but any increase is truly welcome as last year was a real disaster and many Branson Attractions and Shows could not handle another year as bad or worse that the last. A few things may have contributed to the improved visitor numbers. Branson now has the new Branson Airport helping making it easier to get to Branson. The lower fuel prices are helping the travelers using surface transportation and the financial downturn seams to be turning the corner and improving.
As the beautiful fall leaf colors fade the new Christmas Decorations are put up by all the home owners, shop owners, municipalities, theaters and the special streets of lights. These streets are set up in Kimberling City as well as Branson. These spectacular Christmas light displays are about a mile in length and they blaze with millions of lights. These lights are draped over hoops over the street creating tunnels of light and the walls are lined with characters outlined in lights. Then the lighted tunnels come to an end the fields or vacant land on the street sides are covered with lighted characters and structures like buildings, ships, trees, stars, and many in animation (motion).
This is a very joyous and exciting time to be in Branson and when you leave you will truly see why Branson is known as the Christian Christmas City of the Nation.
